Sujit Choudhry Excels in Constitutional Law as Interview Reveals

Sujit Choudhry is the head of the Center for Constitutional Transitions which deals with matters of constitutional development in emerging countries all over the world. In an interview, Sujit reveals more about his passion. When asked about the idea behind his organization, he responded that the Center for Constitutional Transition mobilizes and generates knowledge on constitutions especially its building and assembling in addition to bringing well-connected experts from all over the globe to ascertain the constitutions based on evidence. Sujit Choudhry’s Advice to Transitional Democracies

Discussing the semi-presidential system of governance that operates in Ukraine with other constitutional experts, Sujit Choudhry stated that Ukraine has not yet achieved a stable democratic system. This team noted that Ukraine has been facing quite a number of constitutional challenges of late. The instability in Ukraine is caused by among other things, the legislature electoral arrangement, weak political parties and the presidency power. Present in this discussion were Thomas Sidelius of Dalarna University, Sumit Bisarya who is an International IDEA, and Vladimir Vasilenko, a representative of Human Rights from Ukraine among other people.
